I’m starting to feel better today. After Haliburton this year I took most of the week off to rest but I’m starting to get some spring in my step and nothing is hurting so I need to get back into the swing of things.
Over the weekend Jenn and I headed to Toronto to visit and I headed down to the 5Peaks Hilton Falls race on Saturday. I hung out with Mark VanBeek from Salomon at their tent, talk gear and shoes, plus handed out sample Salomon shoes for people to try at the race.
A cool day and an early morning left me pretty tired so I opted to rest and enjoy the competition from the warmth of the tent.
I had a really nice day meeting all the runners and talking gear with them. It was fun to see some people from the ultra community and hopefully help some people understand the importance of a good pair of trail shoes.
The rest of the weekend was spent being pretty hedonistic so I’ll spare the details. Spent some money at MEC and had some amazing meals.
Next on the agenda for me is to decide what to race next. I’m leaning towards Hellgate in December as the major race for the end of the year. Might jump into the Batawa Fatass Race as well in November for fun. So the only thing left to do is put on my shoes and get running.
